National Museum of Dentistry is located in Baltimore. It exhibits the history of dentistry in United States and throughout the world. The museum’s extensive 40,000 object collection of dental instruments, furniture and artwork is one of the most important and oldest in the world. Highlights of the collection include George Washington’s not-so-wooden dentures (they were made of hippo ivory), Queen Victoria’s dental instruments, and the world’s only Tooth Jukebox. It was founded in Baltimore the first college of Dental Surgery in USA in 1840. Dr. Harris was the school’s first dean and a professor of practical dentistry. The College is still in existence today and is part of the University of Maryland, Baltimore. This Museum is cool because it shows a lot of outdated dental equipment for example: a scaler made of ivory used to clean teeth hundreds of years ago. Strange exhibition is a on the virtues of saliva. It’s really very funny museum.
