Ferndale - a town in redwood. In the area covered by the most powerful of the world’s most powerful sequences, Ferndale is home to a delicate name: the fern valley. Ferndale was founded in 1852 by Scandinavian, Portuguese and Swiss-Italian immigrants. Its inhabitants are not hardwoods, and they deal with milk and cheese. The town is on the list of national monuments thanks to Victorian-style buildings, well preserved and restored, despite the earthquakes (1906, 1992). At present most of the inhabitants live from tourism where outside the tour can see a 10-day horse racing fair.
