Real de Catorce is a remarkable town in central Mexico. The proper name of the city is Real de Minas de Nuestra Senora de la Limpia Concepcion de Guadalupe de los Alamos de Catorce. The other elements names include: silver mines around which the city was founded, two paintings of the Virgin Mary, fourteen Spanish soldiers who died in the great expedition to the seventeenth century. Real de Catorce in the middle of the eighteenth century was a mining center inhabited by Indians Negritos, and in 1778 the city developed through the heat of silver. But after exhausting silver deposits, and after the revolution in 1910, the city fell into decline. His re-flowering contributed to the church and the miraculous statue of St. Francis, where every year there is a procession and the celebrations last month of attracting tourists.
