Helsingborg is one of the oldest cities in Sweden, officially established May 21, 1085 year (then in Denmark). The location at the narrowest point of the Sound has contributed to the rapid growth of its meaning. Probably in the twelfth century fortress was built, after which until now has remained only a tower, called Kärnan.
