In 1916, Germany began construction of light rail in Hajnówka. For the construction they were used Russian and French prisoners of war. In the Bialowieza Forest comes up a network of narrow-gauge railway. Narrow Gauge Railroad functioned mainly as forest railway to transport the trees and hunters. In 1974, diesel locomotives replaced steam locomotives. Since 1991 the queue are designed for tourists. Currently, the line runs on two routes: Hajnówka - Topilo and Hajnówka - Posto³owo. They represent one of the most interesting attractions of the region - the original form of the knowledge of nature. Bialowieza Forest can be seen from the narrow gauge railway carriages. Not very quick ride allows you to enjoy the lush forest, also close because the train stops several times. We can step out to the edge, just over the tracks Reserve Deep Angle, who remain in its natural state is a fragment of the so-called boron peat bog. Equally beautiful view impresses as the train crosses the river Forest. On yet another stop we can watching oak - a natural monument.
