Oscar Kolberg - ethnographer, folklorist, composer, he was the creator of the source foundations of modern sciences of culture: ethnography, ethnology, folklore, ethnomusicology, linguistics. He was a famous scientific researcher in Poland and Europe. Oskar Kolberg as the first researcher has collected and systematized folk culture, dividing it by region. The result of his work is the work of the People, where he collected customs, way of life, language, administration, proverbs, rituals, witchcraft, games, songs, music and dances in different regions of the country. Until 1890 he managed to publish 33 volumes of the People. Another piece are images ethnographic researcher, published in 10 volumes - its collections contain 12,000 folk songs, 1,250 folk tales, 670 fairy tales, 2,700 proverbs, 350 riddles, 15 folk spectacles and many other ethnographic documents. . The museum is located in the Manor Dembinski, whose single-storey part of a museum dedicated to biographical Kolberg. The facility was opened in 1990 on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the death Kolberg. The museum presents records of terrain Kolberg, corrections copyright and editions volumes of "Lud", correspondence, sketches and drawings terrain, publishing his articles in nineteenth-century magazines.
