Wambierzyce - the village is situated at an altitude of 370–410 m in the picturesque Cedron valley on the eastern slopes of the Table Mountains. Here is a Marian shrine - the baroque Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the eighteenth century, whose historical origins date back to the twelfth century. It is known as Silesian Jerusalem and one of the popular pilgrimage sites in southern Poland. The basilica is richly decorated: the main altar, baroque pulpit, a statue of the Madonna and Child from linden wood, side altars of the nineteenth century and numerous sacred images. On the nearby hills and in the center of the village there are numerous chapels, shrines and gates, which are part of Calvary. It was created in the period from the late seventeenth to the nineteenth century. Also interesting is the moving crib of 1882, which local artificer has worked for 28 years. At that time, he created more than 800 figures from linden wood, most of which moves in the rhythm of the music through the mechanism of the clock.
