Klodzko Fortress - Stronghold is the most valuable piece of modern defense architecture in Poland, which has its origins in the tenth century, in the place where now dominates over the city mighty castle of the Prussian fortress existed Kladsko (Cladzco, Glacensi itinere) belonging to his father’s first patron St. Adalbert Polish. This castle was built around 981 years, probably consisted of wooden buildings surrounded by stone and earthen ramparts with wooden palisade. In the following centuries the castle and fortress was built, destroyed, rebuilt. In its present form it was established during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. During the reign of King Frederick the Great, it was one of the largest fortresses in Prussia. In 1960, the fortress was officially recognized as a monument and made available to tourists. Part of the fortifications made available to explore is only 10% of the facility. The complex consists of fortress K³odzko: Main fortress, Fort auxiliary Sheep Mountain, the city walls (fragmentary), strengthening the field.
