Bartek is one of the oldest oaks in Poland oaks growing in the Zagnañsk (12746) in the Holy Cross Mountains, near Kielce. It is the largest and oldest known tree in Poland. Since 1954 it is protected by a natural monument. Between the age of oak evaluated even 1,200 years, but 1,992 years old Bartek has been verified for about 650 years. The tree is 28.5 meters in height, trunk circumference at a height of 1.30 m is 9.85 m and 13.4 m at ground level, crown spread of 20 x 40 m. In 1997, he was installed in place of wooden props supporting telescopic limbs. On the tree are connected many legends. According to one of them, King John III Sobieski and his wife hid in Marysienka Bartek treasures.
