Arkady Fiedler Museum is the museum dedicated to the life and work of Arkady Fiedler traveler, located in Puszczykowo near Poznan. Arkady Fiedler (November 28, 1894 in Poznan - March 7, 1985 in Puszczykowo) was a Polish writer, journalist and adventurer. He traveled is Mexico, Indochina, Brazil, Madagascar, West Africa, Canada and United States, amongst other countries. He wrote 32 books which have been translated into 23 languages and sold over 10 million copies in total. His most famous and popular book, written in 1942, was "Squadron 303" (pl. Dywizjon 303) about the legendary Kosciuszko Squadron fighting during the Battle of Britain. Museum-Workshop Arkady Fiedler started operations on 1 January 1974. Arkady Fiedler bought this villa from the state in 1946, after returning to the country from exile war. There are original exhibits from North and South America, Africa and Asia - including sculptures and ritual masks, musical instruments, and even trophies with human heads prepared by Indians. Some of the exhibits you can try: play the tam-dam or other exotic instrument. In the Garden of Tolerance around the museum it was founded remarkable collection of sculptures that are faithful copies of famous monuments of ancient cultures. They stand here, among others Gate of the Sun from Bolivia, Aztec calendar or 6.5-meter statue from Easter Island. This exhibition presents a unique collection of monuments in Europe exotic. The permanent exhibition includes further Pyramid of Cheops, The Secret World of Indians, as well as a replica of Christopher Columbus’ legendary sailing ship Santa Maria in the scale of 1: 1. After the death of senior family in 1985, maintaining the museum was occupied by families of his two sons. Museum rooms were organized in the following buildings standing on the property.
