Museum Shirakawa-go Gassho-no Sato Village is located in Ogimachi near the river Shokawa. There are over 100 houses, some are 200 years. These houses were specially built with room for silkworms that are not ruin under the weight of snow. At the same time under a thick cover of snow and the rooms silkworm had to find shelter large group of breeders, consisting of 20-30 member families. In this way, the architecture gassho-zukuri, which name comes from the thatched angled 60st. Houses built because of the dam were moved to another location. All the houses were renovated and placed in the traditional rural landscape.
